The Truth in Labeling Coalition is a nonprofit organization. Your support will

Dear Trusting and Concerned Citizens:
Monsanto, Dow Chemical, and DuPont don't want you to know that they are fundamentally changing the genetic make up of 70% of the processed food you buy from grocery stores and feed your family - and experimenting with your children's health!
How are bio-tech companies doing this? With billions of dollars from seed patents and the sale of hundreds of millions of pounds of chemical pesticides.
Why hasn't the FDA done anything? Because the biotech companies' own lawyers are in positions responsible for FDA policies, and have cleverly determined that "If it looks the same, smells the same, and tastes the same," it does not need to be labeled. Therefore, genetically engineered foods don’t have to be labeled or safety tested before it is sold to you and your family. The FDA's own scientists expressed doubts about this policy, and knew there were good reasons for you to be concerned, but nothing has been done about it. Cows, pigs, geese, elk, deer, raccoons, mice and rats can all recognize genetically engineered food – it’s time we did! Over half the world’s developed countries have labeling laws governing genetically engineered food, and American food manufacturers like including Kellogg’s and Kraft currently source non-genetically engineered ingredients for food distributed outside the U.S.
What can we do? NOW is the time to ask your Representatives to label genetically engineered foods! Please take a minute to contact your Representative and Senator urging him or her to sign on to the bicameral Dear Colleague Letter to the FDA from Senator Boxer and Representative DeFazio demanding the FDA label GE foods.
